Shaun grew up in a Roman Catholic family in Joplin, Missouri, and became a Christian at a Russ Taff concert while in college. He graduated with a BA in Communications from Missouri Southern State College (University) in 1987 and met Elizabeth (Beth) Osborn during his final semester at Missouri Southern. He then served as Media Director for Calvary Baptist Church in Joplin, Missouri, from 1987-1991. Shaun and Beth were married in 1990 and moved to Dallas, TX, where Shaun earned a ThM from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1996. He served as the Associate Pastor of Youth and Worship at Coppell Bible Fellowship in Coppell, Texas, from 1991-2005. During that time, God blessed Shaun and Beth with four children, Hannah, Abigail, Josiah and Lydia. He then became the pastor of Community Bible Church of Lawrence, Kansas (now CityChurch Lawrence), from 2005-2022. During that time God blessed them with two more children, Mary and Elijah. In addition to his role as Plant Pastor at CBC, Shaun is currently serving as the Chairman of the Ministry Studies Department at Calvary University in Kansas City.
