Russ has been part of CBC from an early age because his parents moved to Olathe soon after the church was planted. He attended Olathe schools, made music with CBC friends, earned a biology degree from Tabor College (where he met Marilyn), then worked in the chemistry field for a number of years while volunteering in youth and worship at CBC. In 2001 he joined CBC staff as Associate Pastor of Youth & Worship and continues to serve as Pastor and Elder. Russ loves to note how great it is to serve in a place where so many have helped him grow in his love of Jesus! He and his wife Marilyn have four grown children: Libby, Abby, James, Benjamin. Outside of church, he loves riding bike, Kansas City sports (especially the Royals), In-N-Out Burger, Dr Pepper, and time with family.
