Karla was raised in South Dakota in a rural community and grew up attending an MB church with strong ties to Tabor College; where she graduated with a degree in Office Administration. She then moved to the Kansas City area and began attending CBC in early 2005. Soon thereafter, she began serving on the worship team, which was instrumental in bringing her and her husband, Todd, together. They have four children - Hannah, Zachary, Simeon, and Katelyn. Karla joined the CBC staff in April 2023. She has served in many different areas at the church including worship team, and children's, youth and women's ministry.
