Family: Dave and I married in 1982. We have 4 sons, Geoff, Josh (wife MJ) granddaughters Bella, Izzy, Ruthie, and Abigail. Our son, Cory (wife Alyson) grandsons Eli, Kaleb, Caden, and Ezra, who are all currently living in Olathe. Our youngest son is Nate (wife Mariza) who lives in Raymore, MO.
Hobbies: I used to love walks along sandy beaches collecting sharks teeth, sea glass, shells, and sea beans. But, as I have "aged" I prefer cool walks in the mountains and woods. I have always loved our family camping trips. And I enjoy journaling those memories. I also love sitting on our back deck during rain storms watching the wildlife.
Favorite Bible Verse: Psalm 139:23-24, "Search me [thoroughly], O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts; and see if there is any wicked or hurtful way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way."
Favorite Movie(s): Shawshank Redemption - it was filmed in my hometown of Mansfield, Ohio at the reformatory where I interviewed for a job in 1976. I realized working behind bars was too intimidating. We also had several friends who were cast as extras in the movie. I also love Kelly's Heroes and The Greatest Showman for the music.
Favorite Book: I am not much of a reader. In my youth I read Agatha Christie and Alfred Hitchcock.
Favorite Food(s): Popcorn and Peanut Butter (not together)
Other notable/fun facts: One of my more embarrassing moments was in high school. I was a squad leader for the wind instruments in the marching band. During a half time show I lead half the band in the wrong direction to the opposite side of the field. |
