Pastor's Note
December 25, 2025For me and my house, the week after Christmas is normally a week of rest and recovery and time together. In that spirit, I hope many of you are able to find rest in these days before turning to a new calendar year. And I give to you several words and promises in Scripture of rest in Christ, who is our great rest.
-
Psalm 4:8; "In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety."
-
Matthew 11:28-30; "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
-
Philippians 4:4-7; "Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
-
Hebrews 4:9-11; "So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from his works as God did from his. Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience."
-
Psalm 46:10; "Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”
May the Lord give you rest in Him.
