This Wednesday is our Christmas Eve service! We'll meet at 6pm, and here are a few things you can anticipate and notes to help you prepare to gather in worship.

  • This is of course a service with many guests and family members who don't regularly attend CBC or any church. So, let's shoot to be hospitable and warm in our welcome. Please sit toward the front and scoot into the middle of the rows so that those less familiar with CBC may easily find a seat, and so that families may sit together. Let's consider how we can be a more welcoming church.

  • The service should last around 45-50 minutes, with a lot of singing and Scripture, along with a shorter sermon focusing on the birth of Christ as the culmination of all the miraculous births in Scripture.

  • We don't normally provide childcare on Christmas Eve, so parents plan accordingly. We'll aim to have some special coloring sheets available for the young ones. And if someone who is an approved volunteer feels especially compelled to provide childcare for our youngest kids, feel free to contact Kris Gerbrandt.

  • This is a candlelight service, which is always special. Parents make sure to watch over your young ones as they light and hold candles!

  • Make sure you get a bag of Christmas treats on the way out, as a "thank you" and Christmas greeting from the CBC staff!

This is always one of my favorite evenings of the year. Most of all, let's pray that the Lord is honored by our praise to Him.
