Our annual SoupFest celebration is coming up Sunday evening, and it occurs to me that this may be the first SoupFest for a number of our people. So, in preparation, here are some notes and tips to help you prepare!

  • SoupFest starts at 5pm, but seniors may feel free to skip the line and show up at 4:45.
  • Come hungry! There will be more soups then one could sample (though some might try).
  • Consider helping to setup tables and chairs on Sunday after church, and to clean up after the meal on Sunday evening.
  • Pray for Jack Houghton and Relentless Prison Ministry at Lansing Correctional Facility, which will be our focus for the evening.
  • Invite friends and family, especially those who want to eat soup or hear about prison ministry.
  • Pray about bringing a donation for Relentless Prison Ministry.
  • We will eat at round tables in the Worship Center. Consider sitting by someone you haven't yet gotten to know.
  • Some have found that bringing a muffin tin is an efficient way to hold multiple soups in one trip.
  • Leave room for dessert.
  • If you're not a soup person, there will be meats and cheeses and other food for you.

See you at SoupFest on Sunday night!
