Pastor's Note
March 20, 2025How might you prepare for Resurrection Sunday? We have not greatly emphasized Lent season as others have, but there is something beneficial in looking with anticipation to high points on our church calendar, and taking advantage of opportunities to practice greater reflection. And I am excited for our plans for Easter this year. On the Tuesday of Easter week, we will encourage the whole church to fast for 24 hours leading into Wednesday evening. Then, on Wednesday evening, we will gather and break our fast by breaking bread and praying and worshiping together. On Friday, we will hold a Good Friday service, focusing on the cross of Christ. Immediately following that service, we plan to have more than 24 hours straight of prayer taking place in our new prayer room, through Saturday until Sunday morning. Finally, on Sunday morning we will gather for a brief pre-breakfast service outside the church, go inside for breakfast together, and cap it all off with a celebration of the resurrection in our Sunday Service. Let's all pray and plan together to make that week both a solemn time of seeking the Lord, and a celebration of the life He richly gives to us in Christ. To help with that, we will put forward an Easter "Bible Reading Challenge," which kids and adults alike can use to focus on Scripture and the resurrection. We are working to get the building ready. Let's do all we can to ensure our hearts are ready as well!
