I know I've talked about this a good bit already, so forgive me if this is overkill! But I again wanted to mention the lecture Friday evening. There are a few reasons you might want to join us. First, we'll have dessert - that's a no-brainer. Second, it's an opportunity to connect with some folks from the denomination and Tabor specifically.

Our annual SoupFest celebration is coming up Sunday evening, and it occurs to me that this may be the first SoupFest for a number of our people. So, in preparation, here are some notes and tips to help you prepare!

I hope you'll consider joining us for the "Praying the Bible" workshop with Donald Whitney (Sunday, August 17 at 6:30pm). Glen Averill initiated this and got us in contact with Dr. Whitney, and I'm thankful for it. Whitney has written and taught extensively on the spiritual life of the Christian and the church, and we will be blessed and benefited to have his expertise and experience at our disposal.

I'm getting back into the groove this week and still basking in the glow of a newly remodeled kitchen. I could say more about that here, but may save that for another time because I want to take a moment to look ahead to Saturday's Summer Shindig! Here are a few updates and tidbits of information for you all as we look to gather this weekend!

As this note hits your inbox, I am on vacation. So, this note was written several weeks ago while I was still in the office, and I am speaking to you from the past. Assuming the Lord hasn't yet returned, and assuming our world hasn't devolved into apocalyptic chaos, I encourage you to participate with us in the weekend ahead.

How might you prepare for Resurrection Sunday? We have not greatly emphasized Lent season as others have, but there is something beneficial in looking with anticipation to high points on our church calendar, and taking advantage of opportunities to practice greater reflection. And I am excited for our plans for Easter this year.

You may have noticed that we have not made announcements for Trunk or Treat this year, and some have asked about it. The reason is that we are skipping this event, at least for this year. You may wonder why! There are three primary reasons.
