The elders met for our monthly meeting on Tuesday, November 18. Uncharacteristically (and thankfully), this month did not have a lengthy administrative agenda enabling us to spend more time on other things. We continued in our discussion of readings from The Multigenerational Church Crisis by Bryan Chapell.

The elder retreat was held last Saturday. Mission Southside graciously allowed us to use their facilities for our all-day retreat (as they have in recent years). We appreciate their generosity.

The elders met September 18, 2025. We are reading and discussing a book by Bryan Chapell entitled “The Multi-Generational Church Crisis”. In this book, he points out that many “adults over the age of 50 were raised in an era when the vast majority of Americans thought of themselves as Christian.”

The elders last met on August 21, 2025. As always, a portion of our time was spent in discussion and prayer around the needs of our members and the needs of our church. Part of our discussion included 242 groups, which are forming now.

This month, the elder meeting of June 19 was focused on primarily three things; discussions regarding our people, the budget, and the church plant.

The elders met May 22 for the regular monthly meeting. Our agenda always considers concerns, praises and care regarding our church family as well as administrative items. As respects care, we have had ongoing discussions regarding those who would identify themselves as members of our church body, but who participate very infrequently in corporate worship, discipleship, or other ways with this body.

The elders met April 24 for the regular monthly meeting. As usual, our time was pretty evenly split between discussing concerns and praises regarding our church family, prayer, and discussing administrative items. One thing that was discussed is that spiritual needs are likely as prevalent as health concerns (of which we have had plenty) and spiritual health and physical health are linked.

One of the requests made at the last triennial all church survey was better communications between the elders and the congregation. In response we decided to try using the Pastor's Blog for that purpose. It seemed like a good medium to communicate, as well as a chance for Pastor Aaron to have a week off from the blog now and again, so here goes!
