Elders' Blog

Welcome to the Pastors' Blog

Greetings! With the update of our church website, we thought it an opportune time to roll out a pastors’ blog. So here’s the big question: Why?

There are many good, thought-provoking, informative, humorous, and edifying blogs out there, readily available for all of our consumption. So why add another? The simple reason is this gives another venue for the pastors of CBC to communicate to the people of CBC. Make no mistake, this corner of our site will not make a splash in the broader Evangelical/Christian world. That’s not the goal. That’s not the audience. The audience is very specifically Community Bible Church. The goal is that this would be another place wherein you can hear the heart and mind of the pastors of CBC.

Also, a useful and relevant website continually needs new content. So there’s that.

What kind of content can you expect? Generally, most of the content will come from me, Aaron. But we’re calling it the pastors’ blog- not the pastor’s blog. So you may hear from some of the other pastors of CBC. We’ll see what happens!

A lot of the blogs will come soon after Sunday, and will mostly be continuing thoughts from Sunday morning’s sermon. Every week, there are things I would have liked to say about the text, but didn’t have time (believe it or not). Or, a thought/concept might distract from the larger point at hand, but I still think it's worth talking about. Or there may be things I should/could have said, but didn’t. Or there may be things that need clarification. Whatever the case, the blog is a good place to continue the conversation.

Additionally, there’s a good chance I’ll use this space to recommend good books, podcasts, and other blogs or resources. There’s lots of good stuff out there, and one of my great joys as a pastor is pointing others towards good thought-fodder.

So there’s the introduction- keep your eyes peeled for more! Just a note- we won’t have a comments section.  Monitoring that sort of thing would require all sorts of time, and nobody wants to dedicate staff hours to sifting through masses of spam to find the one legitimate comment. If anything strikes you or you want to provide feedback (and we hope you do), you have our numbers and you have our emails! And of course, we will see you on Sunday morning.
