Pastor's Note - June 9

I would like to encourage us all to spend some time this summer connecting with someone new at the church. Following a couple years of pandemic life, you may find a number of unfamiliar faces around the church. So one of our focuses over the summer is relationally connecting and reconnecting. We would like to facilitate personal connections in a few different ways. You’ll hear more about all of these in the days and weeks ahead, but I just want to bring a couple to attention. First, we will once again coordinate Sunday Suppers. These are simply meals hosted by CBC folks, with the purpose of getting to know some new people. Kathy King will coordinate, and when you sign up, she will assign you a group to join for dinner on an upcoming Sunday. Second, we are also going to pair up people for “parenting connection” dinners. These will be dinners specifically for parents/grandparents, with the agenda focused on parenting as Christians. If you want to talk to another parent about parenting, sign up for one of these dinners. We’ll give you some funds to buy dinner, and pair you with someone who we think would be a good connection, and you’ll spend the evening together talking about parenting. Also, last Sunday we talked about forming new discipleship groups soon. If you want to grow spiritually, and grow in being a disciple of Jesus, while also walking closely with some other members of the church, then ask about joining a discipleship group. Those are just a few ways to get connected. I know there are also moms gathering at parks, men getting together for coffee, ladies gathering for lunch at the church, and people serving together in various ministries throughout the summer. If you would like to get to know more people at CBC, let us know and we’ll help make it happen!
