Pastor's Note - January 19

I love the simple encouragement of Hebrews 13:16 – “And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.” It’s a straightforward reminder toward generosity, because we serve a generous God. I have been reminded of this as I come into the church office, and see people serving. As I write this, several men are volunteering their time to change out lightbulbs in the building. I have seen Aaron Dick and his building team spend a great many hours in recent days in meetings for the sake of the basement remodeling and parking lot expansion. A huge amount of thanks goes to them and the time they give. This has been a big project, and I am incredibly thankful for the leadership of Aaron and his team. I have seen women getting together to plan a really exciting upcoming women’s conference (stay tuned for this). I have seen people visit others in the hospital, and check on those who are ill and hurting. I have seen people gather to plan our children’s ministries, others devote their energies and wisdom to finding a church planting pastor, and others sacrifice their time to maintain our tech and worship ministries. It’s impossible to miss – we have a church of people who are incredibly generous with their time and gifts. I just wanted to say thanks to all of you for this. It’s humbling and encouraging as a pastor to serve alongside so many who sacrifice so much for the sake of the gospel, the sake of the church, and the praise of Jesus. May God be pleased with such sacrifices!
