Authentic Spirituality

Have you ever asked yourself what it means to be an authentically spiritual person? Have you ever asked what it takes to gain the life of the spirit talked about in the New Testament? Is it simply a matter of applying spiritual disciplines with all the human effort one can muster…or is there more to it than sheer will power? In Romans 12 we see a road map to an authentically spiritual life. This map calls us to total surrender, separation from the world, sober self-reflection, serving in love and supernaturally dealing with evil. It is not an easy journey, but those who follow the path will discover a life that is governed and empowered by the Spirit of God.
